TrainYourEyes’ unique Eccentric Snakes are an important part of a vision training programme. You train your eyes to turn inwards and outwards while you focus and see depth. You use them during a programme with your vision therapist.
What it trains
- Fusion – merging the images from both eyes into one.
- Convergence – turning the eyes inwards while keeping a single image.
- Divergence – turning the eyes outwards while keeping a single image.
- Vergence flexibility – switching between different demands on the eyes’ teamwork.
- Stereopsis (depth perception) – perceiving depth from the differences between the two eyes’ images.
- Monocular training under binocular conditions – you mainly train one eye while both are actively used.
- Accommodation – focusing at the same time as all of the above.
Who it is for
For you if your eyes tire quickly and you want better visual concentration when reading, working at a screen or doing sport.
How to use them
- The small cards are used up close (reading distance) and held A to A. When you turn your eyes inwards, an extra set of snakes appears in the middle. The letters must be completely sharp.
- The training has many steps: the cards are pulled apart and finally combined with the large snakes 2–3 metres away.
- For elite athletes it is a key exercise that must also be mastered with a high pulse and fatigue.
Good to know
- The set consists of large snakes (long distance) and small snakes (short distance).
- Matte laminated, so there are no reflections or glare.
- Can be wiped clean after use.
- NB! Use according to your vision therapist’s instructions.
